Code of conduct
Creating.Works is where members find meaningful work and build networks that serve the common good. This code describes how we treat one another here and everyone who joins agrees to it.
This code sits alongside our terms of service and our privacy policy. Agreeing to the terms includes agreeing to this.
Respect and professionalism
Translating self-promotion to collaboration. Our community is a place to collaborate and work on the challenges we share. Save promotion for your matches and sub-networks who've already expressed specific interest. Rather than promoting your expertise or solution, ask: "How could we address [this problem] together?" or "How might this solution strengthen our network here?"
- Respect for all participants: treat all members of the Creating.Works community and network with respect, courtesy, and professionalism. Recognize the expertise, time, and unique perspectives that each person contributes.
- Inclusive behavior: do not engage in any form of discriminatory behavior, harassment, gossip, or bullying based on race, color, gender identity/expression, national origin, age, religion, marital status, disability, neurodiversity, sexual orientation, or other protected characteristics.
- Professional communication: maintain professional communication in all interactions on the platform, including messaging, profile information, and feedback exchanges.
- Constructive engagement: provide thoughtful, constructive feedback when requested. Focus on what your interactions give the other person.
- Accurate representation: describe your skills, experience, mission priorities, and values as they are.
- Continuous learning: demonstrate a commitment to growth by actively participating in platform activities and thoughtfully considering feedback from others.
Confidentiality and privacy
- Confidentiality: respect the confidentiality of information shared during interactions. Do not disclose sensitive or proprietary information without explicit permission.
- Data privacy: honor the privacy settings of other users and do not attempt to circumvent platform protections designed to maintain privacy.
Ethical use of the platform
- Appropriate requests: use the platform to make connections that serve what you and others care about.
- Respect for boundaries: honor the preferences and boundaries set by other users, including their availability and interaction preferences.
- Feedback integrity: give clear, constructive feedback about connections and experiences so the community keeps getting better for everyone.
Compliance
- Legal compliance: abide by all applicable local, state, and federal laws when using the platform and engaging with other users.
- Platform policies: adhere to all policies and guidelines set forth by Creating.Works, including the terms of service and privacy policy. Any violations may result in limitation or termination of access to the platform.
Reporting
If you witness or experience any violations of this Code of Conduct, promptly report the incident to hello@creating.works. Provide detailed information about the incident, including the individuals involved, the time, and any supporting evidence. Reports will be treated with confidentiality and addressed in a timely manner.
